Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN BAHRIJ It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Bahrij on January 26, 2005 at Holy Family Nursing Home at the age of 83. John was predeceased by his parents Martin and Anna; his wife Helen; brother Karol and sister Mary; brother-in-law Jack and sister-in-law Amelia; brother-in-law Michael and sister-in-law Mary. He will be sadly missed by daughter Christena (Yves) Leclerc; daughter Mary-Ann Layton; sister Aniela; brother-in-law Ken and sister-in-law Gladys Szykoluk; numerous nieces and nephews. John was born in Rakow-Kot, Poland on November 10, 1921. He came to Canada in 1949 and married Helen in 1952. He was a hardworking, religious man who always provided for his family and willingly helped anyone in need. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at Holy Family Nursing Home for their constant care and kindness. Prayers will be said on Sunday, January 30 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Luxton Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 31 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., with an Oblate Father officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., R3C 9Z9. Cropo Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 586-8044.
