Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE S. COUILLARD (nee SLY) November 9, 1928 - January 22, 2005 Florence passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, at Qualicum Beach, BC. She will be sadly missed by Herman Couillard, her husband of 53 years. She will also be sadly missed by daughter Karen Couillard of Qualicum Beach; son David Couillard; and grandsons, Thomas and Jean-Pierre Couillard of Winnipeg; sisters, Wilma and Shirley; and brother Elwood, all of Winnipeg; brother Eric of Edmonton; and many nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her sisters, Hazel and Thelma; and brother Raymond. The family would like to thank the staff of Arranglen Gardens and Dr. Gordon McIntyre for their compassionate care of Florence during her long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. In lieu of flowers, Florence asked that donations be made to Parkinson Society of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society. A private family service was held. God looked around His garden, And found an empty space; He then looked down upon this earth And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, and lifted you to rest; God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the very best. He knew that you were suffering; He knew that you were in pain, He knew that you might never Get well upon this earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb So He closed your weary eyelids and whispered, Peace by Thine. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you never went alone, For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. First Memorial Funeral Services Vancouver Island, BC 250-754-8333
