GENOWEFA (JEAN) REBIZANT After a courageous battle with cancer, Genowefa (Jean) passed away peacefully with her loving family by her bedside, on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at Riverview Health Centre. Mom will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 52 years, Nicholas; her children, Wanda (Gordon) Holmberg, Eugene (Sylvia), Theresa (Zelko) Majetic and Carol (Craig) Harrison. She also leaves to cherish her memory her wonderful grandchildren, Kris (Genevieve), Jennifer, Melissa, Jessica, Nicole and Evan, who all had a very special place in Grandma's heart. She was also blessed to have become a first time great-grandmother to Nikolas Robert, who was born on January 20, 2005. Also left to mourn her passing are her nephew Bogdan Przednowek and his family; her nephew Marek Przednowek from Poland and niece Yashka from Spain. She was predeceased by her parents, Natalka and Janek Przednowek; her brother Rudolf Przednowek, as well as two infant children. Mom was born on September 20, 1932 in Cieszanow, Poland. She married Nicholas on September 9, 1952. In 1961, the family immigrated to Canada and settled in the Tyndall/Garson area. They subsequently moved to Transcona, where they lived for many years until their retirement. Mom loved to garden and she was passionate about her yard and flowers at the lake (Leisure Falls). Mom and Dad enjoyed many happy years together at the cottage. They would be there from April to October and loved when the children and grandchildren were there together with them for the weekends. She also enjoyed spending time with her seniors group and her many bus trips to the Shooting Star to gamble. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 31 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing held one hour prior at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster St. with Fr. Richard Machura officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful caring staff at the Riverview Health Centre (Palliative Care ward) for their compassionate care and kindness given to Mom during her last days. Special thanks to Linda and Lydia, Dr. Garcia and Dr. Ian. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Riverview Health Centre, 1 Morley Ave. or to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 Sherbrook St. You will always be our source of inspiration and love.
