GEORGE STEVENSON Peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Maples Personal Care Home, George Stevenson passed away at the age of 90 years. George is survived by two sons, Gordon and Gary; daughters-in-law, Michelle and Marge; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Dorothy (Dolly); second wife Helen; three brothers and four sisters. George served in the Second World War. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Artillery. His rank was Gunner with the 11th Battery. After the war, he returned to Winnipeg. He retired after 33 years of service with the Winnipeg Transit Local 1505. George loved his summers at Winnipeg Beach where he had a cottage and winters in Hawaii. He enjoyed his outings with family and friends. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. Many thanks to the Maples Personal Care Home especially the staff on 1 West. Their patience and kindness not only for George but his family will never be forgotten. A special thanks to Maryann at Palliative Care who always brightened his day with her visits. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 1 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook St. Interment Brookside Cemetery.
