IONA HAZEL UNGER It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Iona Unger, aged 89. Iona was born on March 1, 1915 in Blue Township to Harriet and Alex Grant. In 1933 she married Frank Unger and lived in Blue Township where they raised their family. In May of 1973 they built a house on First Street in Rainy River. There they enjoyed their garden and travelling in their camper. Upon her husband Frank's passing Iona sold the house and moved into the Heritage House where she lived until her passing. She is survived by her daughters, Marion Unger, Irene Agnew and her husband Bruce and son Victor and his wife Amelia. Also surviving are six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Iona was predeceased by her loving husband Frank Unger Sr.; her son Frank Unger Jr.; sisters, Agnes Van-Brabant, May Biro and brothers, Wesley, Clarence and Orvin Grant. Funeral services were held at Knox United Church in Rainy River, ON. The Unger family would like to say thank you for all the cards and donations.
