She was predeceased by her husband Michael Youzwa (1977); by her parents, John and Maria Kisilevich; along with all her 13 sisters and brothers. Mom is survived by and will be greatly missed by her sons, Ernie (Maryann) Youzwa, Laurie (Diane) Youzwa; and her daughter Darlene (Harold) Liebenau. Mom loved her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. She will be remembered for all the cookies, pies and other baking, and especially her special donuts that she made for us. She loved her garden and especially enjoyed the summer when she could sit on her deck on a beautiful day and listen to the birds. Mom was very musical along with her boys, Ernie and Laurie. They could often be found playing music together at a family party. Mom played the cymballa, while Ernie and Laurie played the accordion. She worked cleaning offices for Government Services at Selkirk Provincial Building from 1974 to 1986 until her retirement. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Selkirk and District General Hospital and the paramedics for all their quick response and all their efforts. The family also wishes to thank all our dear family and dear friends for all their support, baking, phone calls and visits during this difficult time. Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Sorry to hear of Aunt Sophie's passing. I so remember her playing the cymballa and visiting in Saskatoon at Baba's. She was always Baba's little sister and her laugh was infectious. I remember visiting Selkirk and we always looked forward to Darlene's visit. - Posted by: Danita ( Kulyk) Lang (Syl and Ivadelle's oldest daughter (Family) on: Jan 31, 2005

  • It is with sincere sympathy that we write this message. Your mother was a very friendly and caring person. She was the cleaning lady at 446 Main St in Selkirk. The building was never so clean when she and Leonard were here. May the loving memories that you have carry you thru this difficult time. She lived a full life being able to see her children,grandchildren/great grandchildren, grow a prosper. - Posted by: Maureen & Ed Paskaruk (Acquaintance) on: Jan 31, 2005

  • I'm so sorry to hear of "Aunt Sophie"'s passing. Although distance between Selkirk and Saskatoon kept us from seeing eachother often, I remember visits at Baba's house (Stella Kulyk) and how full of spunk and full of life Aunt Sophie always was. Please know I'm thinking of you all at this time, when our last Kisilewich passes on. Their legacy (and recipes!) will live on in each of us. With love, Camille (Kulyk) Kool, Syl's daughter, Stella's granddaughter - Posted by: Camille (Kulyk) Kool (Family) on: Jan 31, 2005
