KURT FRANZ KIESSLING It is with deep sadness, the family announces the passing of Kurt Kiessling on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at Seven Oaks Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Maria (Greifenstein); daughter Wanda (Kenneth) Young; two grandsons, Ian (Jessica) Payne and Daniel Payne; three great-grandchildren, Seth Furtado, Brandon Payne and Jordan Payne; and other relatives in Germany. Kurt was predeceased by his parents, Andreas and Ida Kiessling, four brothers and five sisters. Kurt was born November 26, 1922 in Hof-Moschendorf, Germany and immigrated to Canada and worked for a machine shop in British Columbia as a Journeyman Machinist, then moving to Virginia and worked for the R. F. and P. Railroad. They then moved to Winnipeg where he worked for the CPRailroad retiring in 1987. Kurt loved to bike ride and keep himself fit. The study of history was one of his greatest pastimes. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Seven Oaks Hospital for all their care and compassion. Special thanks to Dr. John Kreml, for all the years of care. According to Kurt's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
