KARL J. M. RENGER Dipl.Ing. Karl J.M. Renger passed away suddenly but peacefully at home in Vancouver on January 28, 2005 at the age of 86. Karl was born in Austria on September 25, 1918, and received his Diplom-Ingenieur in Prague in 1939. He married Irene Voellinger in Allershausen near Munich in 1950, and together they immigrated to Winnipeg in 1951. Karl worked as a Professional Engineer for Manitoba Hydro for over 25 years. During this time he also continued his studies and lectured in Graduate Studies at the University of Manitoba. He received a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering in 1967. Karl enjoyed swimming, travelling, and studying foreign languages. He was a wonderful husband and father. He is sadly missed by his wife Irene; his two sons, Robert and Fritz; and his grandchildren, Max and Sonia. Prayers will be said on Thursday, February 3, at 7:00 p.m. at Kearney Funeral Home, 1096 West Broadway, Vancouver. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, February 4, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint-Sacrement Church, 3040 Heather St., Vancouver. Interment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Karl to Parkinson Society Canada would be greatly appreciated.
