RAYMOND ALLEN SISK On Sunday, January 30, 2005, Ray passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, at age 71. He is survived by Telly, his beloved wife of 47 years and will be sadly missed by her, his family and friends. He is also survived by three sisters, Teresa (Kurt) Dieter of Montreal, QC; Sr. Catherine Sisk C.N.D., Montreal, QC, Joan Roy of Toronto, ON; three brothers, Danny (Madeline) of Brampton, ON, Joe (Margaret) of Fredericton, NB, Jack (Bunny) of Toronto, ON and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Leo (Bathurst, NB), Daniel (Boston, Mass.), Morrill (Saint John, NB), Richard (Ottawa, ON), Arthur (Brampton, ON), Leonard (Saint John, NB), Raymond (Toronto, ON) and Ellsworth (Ottawa, ON). Ray served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1951 to 1972. After his retirement from the Canadian Armed Forces he worked for Manitoba Government Services, from which he retired in 1992. He was also a member of the Gimli Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years. And last, but certainly not least - he was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, since 1957. At one time he served as President of the Gimli Branch, later as Zone Commander for a number of years and then as District Commander for two terms. He made many loyal friends in those positions. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at the Gimli Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 4 at 1:30 p.m. with interment at a later date. Fr. Art Seaman officiating. In lieu of flowers and if family and friends so desire, donations in Ray's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Roberts and all the staff of Health Sciences Medical Intensive Care Unit and also to Dr. J.L. Rabson for all his special care over many years.
