EMIDIO BUCCINI Peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2005, at St. Boniface Hospital, Emidio Buccini passed away at the age of 72 years. Emidio was predeceased by his parents Vitorio and Giulia; his first wife Louise, mother of his children, and his second wife Elena. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jocelyn (Rick) Kehler, Sue (Blaine) Snyder and Lisa (David) Hay; grandchildren, Curtis, Michelle, Brian, Stephanie, Emily, Marty, Christopher and Julie. He also leaves to mourn his stepchildren and their families. An only child, Emidio was born in Villa Lago, Italy, in 1932. At the age of 21, he immigrated with his parents to Canada, settling in Winnipeg. Most of his adult life, Emidio worked for Safeway. He was a very friendly and reliable employee, and for a number of years was manager of the meat department. He retired in 1992 at the age of 60 years. Anything outdoors had an appeal for him: hunting, fishing, golfing, gardening and barbecuing. Each winter was dedicated to Hawaii - it was like a second home. He was a devout Catholic and a long-standing member of the K of C. He loved classical music and had a good singing voice. Emidio's cheery and loving disposition will surely be missed by all who knew him. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, February 2 at 8:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 3 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano as celebrant. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Emidio's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
