IRENE BILYK It is with great sadness that family announces the passing of Irene after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, on January 31, 2005, at home. Irene leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband Walter; daughters, Gail (Gary) Lawrence, Gwen (Richard) Klyne; grandchildren, Monica, Alyssa, Corrine and Cristine; brothers-in-law, Steve Bilyk, Myrth Bilyk, Lorne Waterhouse (Ontario); sisters-in-law, Mary Nemis and Ollie Melynk; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Irene was predeceased by her parents Sadie (1997) and Bill McGillvary (1978); step-dad Morley (1992); and her loving sister Dorothy (1994). Irene attended Earl Grey School and dedicated most of her years working at T. Eatons Co. She was a member at the ANAF Club Unit No. 1 and at the United Church at Grey Street. Irene spent her summers at the cottage where she enjoyed her walks, cycling, bonfires and evenings playing cards and bingo. Family was very important to Irene and her grandchildren provided some of the greatest joys in her life. They will miss their grandma. Thanks to all the special friends who called and visited, lent their support and compassion. We are indeed truly blessed to have such good friends. Also thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Health Sciences Centre and the Palliative Care Unit for their care and kindness. Memorial service will be held on Friday, February 4 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception immediately following the service, followed by interment. In lieu of flowers, donations to CancerCare Manitoba, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715 Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca
