Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON DEWALD On January 31, 2005 at the Gimli Health Centre, after a courageous battle and surrounded by his loving family, our dear husband, Dad and Grandpa, Gordon Dewald, passed on to be with the Lord at the age of 73 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Mary; daughter Gladys (Leonard) Kohler; son Robert (Marlene); grandchildren, Crystal, Melody and Devin Kohler, Chris and Teri Dewald and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Adam and Theresa (Dern); brothers, Rudolph and Karl; sister Phyllis and a sister in infancy. Born at Foley, MB on April 7, 1931, he attended Foley School and later Isaac Newton High School, then trained at Edmonton to become a mechanic. He worked as a mechanic for many years, retiring from Manitoba Natural Resources in 1997 and he farmed. Dad had a great love for music, playing several different instruments, since retirement entertained with the Goldenaires at Teulon, and instilled the love of music in his children and grandchildren. We will never forget his great love for family, his kindness and gentle manner and his willingness to always lend a helping hand. The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses and doctors at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their excellent care and compassion and especially Dr. M. Zaki, all the wonderful staff at the Gimli Community Health Centre and Dr. R. C. Patel, the Home Care workers and Brenda for their caring and understanding and to all those who visited, phoned, sent flowers, cards and food and supported us during these difficult months. Prayers will be held at the Mackenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon on Thursday, February 3 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be on Friday, February 4 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gimli Lutheran Church, 53 - 3rd Ave., Pastor Trudy Thorarinson officiating. Viewing one hour prior to service. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chris Dewald and Devin Kohler, Bruce Dewald, Bill Dudek, Manfred Klapchinsky and Emil Jagodnik. We love you and we will miss you. Til we meet again in Heaven. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Teulon in care of arrangements.
