ROBBIE JOHNSON Accidentally on Friday, January 28, 2005, Robbie Johnson, aged 21 years of Arborg, MB passed away at Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Survived by his father and mother, David and Judy Johnson and his brother Darrell Johnson; special friend Morgan Dziad; grandparents, Alice and Ausgeir Magnusson; uncles and aunts, Bob (Bev) Thompson, cousins, Brock, Creyton, Dwight, Reese; Sharon Thompson (Dan) of Winnipeg, cousins, Jordan, Logan; Debbie (Jeff) Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Scott, Jamie, Jeffery; Diane (Kurt) Ritcey of Oakville, ON, Allison and Andrew; Alan (Janie) Johnson of Riverton, Trent and Amy; Carl Johnson of Arnes. Predeceased by his grandfathers, Dave Johnson in 1982, Gordon Thompson in 1981; grandmother Elsie Thompson in 1988 and most recently by cousin Kenton Johnson in November 2004. Robbie was born on May 1, 1983 at the Victoria General Hospital. He was raised on a farm in Sylvan, MB where he developed into a fine young man, who grew to love the outdoors. Life was an adventure for Robbie. Countless hours were spent triking around the family farm. Although Robbie enjoyed playing hockey, hunting was his true passion. He attended school at Fisher Branch where he developed many close friendships. After graduation he worked at Feed Rite and Patterson's. He later decided to pursue his career in trucking and get his class 1 license. He started working at Henry Banman Trucking where he was presently employed. Along the way he met many new friends. Watching movies gave Robbie a chance to sit back and relax with those he loved. No matter who he was with, Robbie always managed to crack a smile on everyone's faces with his practical jokes. Robbie had us all at his mercy when we played Monopoly. His expertise led him to victory on numerous occasions, only after he loaded his properties (Boardwalk and Parkplace) with those tiny red hotels. He had a fun loving and energetic nature that captivated all those who knew him! After meeting his special friend, Morgan, in July 2003, Robbie began to think seriously about what direction he was going. He began making plans for his future. He cherished his new found love. His parents were proud of the son they had raised. Robbie From the day you were born you changed our life only to make it better. You were our first born son and you were special. We cannot begin to talk about all your childhood years. We remember your graduation like it was yesterday. Within the last year you were maturing into this fine young handsome man that was clearly thinking about your future. A future we know included Morgan and we couldn't have been more proud. Only to have this future taken away in just one second through no fault of your own. Robbie the loss we feel right now is unexplainable. We are all devastated. Words cannot express our sorrow. Somehow we will get through this. We have Darrell who is also having those same feelings. We will forever cherish all those memories we had with you. The hardest part will be not being able to hug you, hold you, feel you, hear you, talk to you, and see you. But you will always be in our hearts. We love you, Mom and Dad Darrell Morgan Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the Arborg Community Hall. Pastor James Thiessen will officiate. Interment will follow in Sylvan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Bouchard, Scott Schofield, Les Zinkowski, Blair Kristinnson, Ryan Bodnar, Jeff Bobbee. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a continuing education - scholarship fund, that has been set up at the Arborg-Fisher Branch Credit Union; to be presented to a graduating student each year in Robbie's memory. Arborg MacKenzie Funeral Home in care of arrangements.

Condolences & Memories (8 entries)

  • Robbie, As another tragedy and young life gone hits our small hometowns, I thought of you. I can't believe it's been ten years since that horrible day that I learnt you had left us. Others had posted about the twinkle in your eye, it's so true. I miss that; your smile, your laugh and the ridiculous amount of air fresheners hanging from your rear view mirror. I wish you had more years to share your wonderful easy going personality with more of the world. You were a great friend. RIP Robbie. - Posted by: Amber MacKenzie (Friend) on: Feb 20, 2015
