IRENE GRACE MARIE LAFORTE (KENT) Irene Grace Marie passed away in the comfort of her family on Monday, January 31, 2005 after a brief illness at the age of 75 years. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother as well as a great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. We will all miss her wit, funny stories, but mostly her love for her children and 33 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Irene was predeceased by her husband Joseph Laforte; and her parents, Edward and Mary Jane Kent; brothers, Stanley, Matthew, Fred; and sisters, Nancy, Sarah; children, Ernest, Lloyd, Lorna; and nephew Fred Kent. She leaves behind to hold on to her memory her brother Arthur; children, Wilfred (Isabel), Marlene (George), Earl (Pearl), Marge, Sylvia (Satar), Anita (Clifford), Eugene, Lloyd; nephew Albert Thompson; and many nieces and friends. Wake services began on Monday, January 31 starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Anglican Parish Church, Fort Alexander, MB. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Nancy Bruyere officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery. Active pallbearers her grandsons, Ernest, Wayne, Lloyd, Daniel, Allan and Dale. Honorary pallbearers, nieces, Lillian Spence and Florence Buboire; granddaughters, Cynthia, Wendy, Kimberly and Mildred. Special acknowledgements to Drs. Lambriechts, Agas and nursing staff of Pine Falls Hospital for the comfort and support they had given our mother as well as the staff at the George M. Guimond Centre.
