Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOE DUCHECK Peacefully, on Tuesday, February 1, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Joe Ducheck passed away at the age of 91 years. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Katie; one son Richard (Betty) of Gimli; four daughters, Evelyn (Roy Walker) of Winnipeg, Barbara (Maurice) Ewanek of Calgary, Janet (Rick) Praznik of St. Andrews and Teri of Brisbane, Australia; grandchildren, Debra, Glenn, Joel, Jarret, Amber, Chad, Travis and one great-grandchild, Curtis. Also left surviving are two brothers Frank (Ann) of Toronto, Peter (Millie) of Lockport and one sister Ann Malis of Winnipeg; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Hank and a sister Aggie. Joe was born in Rossdale, MB on March 20, 1913. He married Katie on September 3, 1938 and they lived and farmed in Lockport, retiring in 1984. In November of 2000 they sold the farm and moved to Winnipeg. His lifetime passion and livelihood was farming. Nothing gave him more joy than jumping on his tractor and heading for the field. He admired and loved his wife Katie dearly. He also loved his children and grandchildren who always brought him joy whenever they would visit. Dad was an avid sports fan, playing soccer and baseball in his younger years. He also loved to get together with his friends for a game of cards. Dad lived a long healthy and fulfilled life up until two years ago, when his health declined. After his retirement, Mom and Dad travelled to Australia, Hawaii, Arizona and Las Vegas. Those were memories he always cherished. Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rossdale, MB. (Donald Road) with Fr. Walter Klimchuk officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation., Suite 200 # 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. May you rest in peace.
