Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySKULI PAULSON It is with great sadness, that the family announces the sudden, but peaceful passing of Skuli Paulson, on January 29, 2005 at the Gimli Community Health Centre, at the age of 87. Skuli is lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Helen; son Norman (Jeannie); daughter Donna (Eggert) Bell; grandchildren, Debbie (Chris), Laurie (Ryan), Patty (Walter), Pam (Jim), Vic (Michelle); great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Devon, Brayden, Skyler and Sebastian and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, as well as extended family Daviette, Darren and Denise. Skuli was predeceased by his son Ronald, sister Kristine and brothers, Barney and Gestur. Skuli was born January 28, 1918 on Hecla Island. He grew up on Hecla and eventually owned and operated his own business, Hecla Sales and Service until 1962, when expropriation proceedings forced him to move his family from the island. He worked for various companies as a very capable mechanic before finally settling at Keewatin Electric, where he worked as a diesel mechanic for 21 years until his retirement. Upon retirement, Skuli and Helen moved back closer to Hecla, settling in Riverton, enjoying 22 years of building lasting memories and friendships. One thing that Skuli found most enjoyable was the love of playing his guitar, along with his wife Helen and family. His unique guitar playing, entertained many others over the years, on stage and on radio. Our sincerest gratitude to Dr. S.V. Patel and the wonderful nursing staff at the Gimli Hospital for their compassion and understanding, especially Dale. Cremation has taken place. A service of Remembrance will be held at Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 8, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Trudy Thorarinson officiating. Interment, at a later date, will take place at Hecla Island. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Skuli's memory to the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church, 53 Riverton Ave. E., Riverton, MB R0C 2R0. We love you Dad, Afi and Big Afi. To Those I've left behind, You held my hand, I felt your strength, I was not alone. Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
