Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALEXANDER ANDRECHUK February 1, 1920 - February 2, 2005 Peacefully in the morning of February 2nd, the day after his 85th birthday, Alex passed away from us. He will be sadly missed by his son Don, daughter-in-law Terri, grandson Kevin, granddaughter Tara, her husband Neil Penner and great-grandchildren Nicholas and Joseph. Sisters Bernice Mudry and Jean Boyzak mourn his passing. Alex was sadly predeceased by his wife Jean in November 2003 and his infant son Robert. Alex was born one of 12 children to an immigrant farming family who settled themselves south of Winnipeg in the R.M. of St. Norbert on Red River Drive. Alex was to remain farming that land well past retirement age. Along with the big job of wheat farming, Alex worked for the Provincial Highways Department for 25 years. Alex was a hardworking, dedicated man, providing well for his family. For amusement, Alex enjoyed going to the horse races, playing bingo and having card games with his sisters and friends. In Alex's last years, his happiness was found being with his great-grandchildren. Alex's health had been in steady decline for a number of years and his passing was in peace. We will miss you Dad, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa! Give rest to his soul Lord and grant it the heavenly kingdom. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Trinity United Church, 933 Summerside Ave., with Milly Malavsky officiating, viewing to be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Andrechuk Cemetery on Red River Drive. Special thanks to Meadowood Manor staff for caring for Alex in his last years.
