STEPHANIE (STEPHIE) DACK (nee BRADKOWSKA) September 5, 1920 - January 28, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Stephanie, on Friday, January 28, 2005, at the Grace General Hospital, at the age of 84 years. Mom is survived by and will be greatly missed by her children, Gail Rozon (Gordon), Jon Dack (Judy), Judi Lutman (Howard), Kevin Dack (Janice), and Dennis Dack (Karen). As well, she will also be deeply missed by her beautiful and adored grandchildren, Jessica Rozon, Jeffrey and Justin Dack, Tara Kurczewski (Bobby), Amanda Buhse (Ryan), Sarah and Erin Dack, Kendra, Caroline and James Dack; and her special darling, great-grandson Zachary Kurczewski. Mom's dearest friend, Helen, will miss her longtime buddy. She was predeceased by her loving husband John (1972); by her parents Maria and Nicholas; and by her dear sister Olga. Stephie was born and raised in Winnipeg. Her marriage to John, who was in the Armed Forces, allowed them to travel and live all across Canada. When Dad retired, our family came back to live in Winnipeg. Mom's boundless enthusiasm for life was reflected in her varied interests. She was an adventurous and passionate cook, a talented and artistic quilter, whose beautiful quilts are cherished in all of our homes and an avid gardener, who delighted in her colourful flower gardens. Above all, she was a person who cared deeply for the important people in her life - family, friends, and neighbours. We are all left with wonderful memories of her hilarious sense of humour and the shared laughter that constantly filled our lives. Reading and travelling played a significant role in Mom's life. Her curiosity about the world kept her current and allowed her to constantly learn and adapt to change. Favourite travel destinations included Hawaii, the continental United States, Great Britain, and anywhere her children happened to live. Mom's warm and vivacious nature was perfectly suited to a career in sales, first at Broadway Florists and then at Sears (Polo Park), until she retired when she was 70 years old. Since last July, she especially enjoyed spending time with her new chums at the physiotherapy program at Deer Lodge. As Mom had wanted, a private service has taken place. A celebration of her life will be held in the summer. An announcement of the date and time will be published at a later date. Our family's sincerest appreciation is extended to the kind and caring nursing staff at the Grace Hospital, who took such loving care of our mother. Mom strongly believed in the mandate of the Siloam Mission: To provide compassionate care for the needy. If desired, memorial donations in Stephie's memory may be made to the Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3 or to a charity of one's choice. Our eternal love to the finest mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and neighbour anyone could ever have. Mom's kindness, compassion, laughter, and love, is our legacy. Beloved - until we meet again. For yesterday's companionship and to tomorrow's reunion. WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
