Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE MABEL DOERSAM (nee LALIER) Olive passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Jocelyn House after a five-month battle against cancer. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Doersam; her twin brothers, John and James LaLier, all in 1992 and brother Fred LaLier. She is survived by her twin sister, Antoinette LaLier in Portland, Oregon, who visited with her just before Christmas. Loraine Korneski of St. Paul, Minnesota; son Dennis (Debbie Anania) of Winnipeg, son Ron (Sharon) of Calgary and their children Shauna (of Vancouver) and Ryan (of Toronto). Olive had many hobbies, including curling, painting, sewing and researching her family history. As a painter she painted over five-hundred paintings giving many away to friends and neighbours to enjoy in their homes. She spent ten years researching the LaLier family history and made many friends throughout North America. Olive was a longtime resident of Fort Garry and made many friends. She was a wonderful friend and neighbour to many people; all of whom will miss her dearly. Olive spent her last months at the Victoria General Hospital and Jocelyn House Hospice where she was cared for by the exceptionally kind and compassionate staff. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Following a reception for friends and family, interment will take place in Thomson In the Park Cemetery.
