Date of Passing: Feb 01, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWESLEY (WES) KLASSEN It is with heavy hearts and overwhelming sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Wes Klassen at the age of 62 years, our dear husband, father, grandpa and friend on February 1, 2005. Wes will be deeply cherished in our hearts and forever missed by his wife Peggy Huys; daughter Val Milkert of Calgary (Steven, Lyla-May and Stephanie); son Derek Klassen of Winnipeg (Keaton, Alex and Bradey), son Kevin Klassen of British Columbia; friend Joe (Lorraine) Clark (uncle and aunt); father and mother-in-law John and Mary Friesen, of Brandon; sisters, Geraldine, Brenda and Carol; sister-in-law Fran (Sean) Tyler of Carberry; aunts and uncles residing in Winkler and cousins and family in Winnipeg. Wes was predeceased by his parents Harry and Katie Klassen. He was born and schooled in Winkler. Wes had been a longtime self-employed carpenter and outdoorsman who eagerly awaited summers so he could get out to the garden to plant the vegetables for the summer market. He was also interested in fishing and enjoying the wonders of nature. Wes was a talented self taught artist and had a passion for woodworking. He could build anything he imagined. He was a quiet, peace loving and spiritual man. Although he was able to find serenity in his own solitude, he treasured the times he spent with his circle of close friends and his family. The family would like to express their thanks to all those who have in many ways tried to help Wes through some trying times and health concerns. His life ended far too soon and he will be missed. Cremation has taken place. A service will be held with family at a later date. The Desjardins Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements, 233-4949; toll free 1-888-233-4949. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.obituariestoday.com
