Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLIE FARQUHAR Charlie Farquhar, born in Banffshire, Scotland on December 5, 1911, passed away February 3, 2005, while holding the hand of his beloved wife Pat. He is survived by his son Bill; daughter Laurie; granddaughter Chelsea and son-in-law Bruce Wardrope; sisters, Betty Ferguson, Mabel Wilson and brother Ronald; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He came to Canada with his brother Bill at the age of 18, and settled in Alberta, a province he loved. He was very proud to serve with the South Alberta Regiment (tank corps) in the Second World War, and was an active participant in their annual reunions. Returning from the war Charlie apprenticed as a carpenter and worked in the construction industry throughout Western Canada rising to the level of superintendent. His most notable projects were: the EPCOR Water Towers, Kinsmen Field House and St. Andrews Church. Our thanks to the staff at the Devonshire Care Center and Dr. Jeh for the care over the past year, as well as Dr. Chris Lord in the years proceeding, and caregivers, Marge, Melissa and Olivia. In lieu of flowers contributions to cancer research would be appreciated. Charlie was a good man, we loved him so.
