PHYLLIS RUTH JACKSON (nee SMART) November 5, 1927 - February 5, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mom, grandma and sister, Phyllis, during the early morning of Saturday, February 5, 2005 at Golden Links Lodge at the age of 77 years. Mom is survived by and will be greatly missed by her son David (Marie) and deeply missed by her grandson Robert whom she loved and adored. Also by her sister Margaret Putnam. She will be greatly missed by all her nephews, nieces and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband Crawford; and son Neil; and her parents, Thomas and Lydia. Phyllis was born and raised in Winnipeg. Mom worked for Eaton's in the accounting department for 13 years, after which time she left to raise her family. With the passing of her husband she returned to the work force with Canada Safeway in the head office where she finally retired. Once Mom retired, she enjoyed travelling. Her favourite time of year to go away was in the middle of winter to any place warm, her favourite place to go was Hawaii. Mom was also a standing member of the P.E.O. sisterhood (Chapter L) since November 28, 1966. She held the office of Chaplain and sat on various other committees. A viewing will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8 at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Wednesday, February 9 at 2:00 p.m. also at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, with interment to follow and reception. The family appreciates the love and care Mom was given at Golden Links Lodge. Pallbearers will be David's extended family and cousins, Tom Lussier, Daniel Lussier, Martin Lussier, David Meunier, Paul Meunier, Joseph Renooy with honorary pallbearers, Ronald Jackson, tom Putnam, David Putnam, Bruce Renooy and Jack Renooy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Golden Links Lodge. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. 982-7550
