GEORGE FRANK BENDERSKI Peacefully, on February 5, 2005 at St. Boniface General Hospital, George Frank Benderski, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at the age of 70 years. George will be sadly missed by his loving wife Sadie of 49 years. Sister Angela and four sons, Terry (Shannon), Darrell, Brent and Darcy (Linda). He will be cherished by his grand-children, Tami, Shaun, Ryan, Jayleen, Justin, Cassidy and great-grandchild Kai. George was the youngest of five children born to Mary and Frank Benderski. Predeceased by his sister Anne and brothers, Joseph and Norbert. Born and raised in East Kildonan, George owned and operated Benderski's Self Serve a Community grocery store which he dedicated his life along side his best friend and brother Norbert. He always looked forward to special occasions and family gatherings which sometimes included a late night card game. George loved his crib tournaments and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas. George was a member of the Holy Ghost Fraternal Aid Society, Canadian Professional Polish Businessmen's Association and the Prince Edward Legion. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Shaun and Ryan Benderski, nephews, Howie and Ron Benderski, Richard and Ken Obirek. To love a Dad and then to part is the greatest trial to the human heart. A cherished smile and a heart of gold, to the dearest Dad the world could hold. Happy memories fond and true from us who thought the world of you. Beautiful memories are treasured ever of happy days when we were together. With aching hearts we whisper low. God bless you Dad, we love you so. Rest in peace. A service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. The family would like to give special thanks to the Palliative Care unit at St.Boniface General Hospital and family physician Dr. Duerksen. At his request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
