On February 4, 2005, Lil Stevens, born in Grand Rapids, MB on April 7, 1949 passed away at her home in Wetaskiwin, AB, at the age of 55 years. Lil leaves to mourn her loss her loving husband, Greg; son Richard, of Edmonton; daughter, Candace of Winnipeg; her parents, Eigill and Evelyn Johnson of Arborg; brothers and sisters, Andy (Norma) of Dauphin, Harold (Karen) of Thompson, Les (Eileen) of Winnipeg, Maureen (Craig) Thompson of Winnipeg. Sam (Karla) of Sandy Hook, Darlene (Curtis) Gallichon of Arborg and Raymond (Sally) of Edmonton as well as numerous and special nephews, nieces and friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Cecil. Lil and her soul mate and best friend Greg were married in 1974. They shared 30 happy years together laughing with and loving each other more every day. Lil was so proud of the accomplishments of Greg, Richard and Candace. She supported and encouraged them every step of the way through her words of wisdom and loving hugs. Lil put enthusiasm, devotion and love into everything she set out to do. This is evident in the many successes we shared with her not only personally but professionally. Her job at Remax was very important to her, she genuinely cared for all of her clients and friends at the office. Lil won the Spirit of the West award in 2003. This award was given for her tireless efforts and time, unselfishly given in encouraging team spirit. That was Lil! Lil will be fondly remembered by all who knew her as a fun loving, happy go lucky, thoughtful person with a strong faith in God. We are all so blessed that she was a part of our lives. She taught us all to care for and be good to each other, to be honest and to find humour in any situation. Lil and I go back to our teen years in Grand Rapids where we were very good friends. Our families have remained friends over the years. Our family went through the loss of our brother Curt in October and our heart goes out to everyone. My sister, Peg and her husband Bill stopped in to see Lil and Greg a few years ago and brought me her real estate business card. I have had her card on my desk since then. I sell real estate for Coldwell Banker here in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Love to all the family at this time. Doll - Posted by: Marie Monkman Coe (Friend) on: Feb 10, 2005
