Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALBERT WAYNE GARDNER Peacefully on February 7, 2005 at the Lakeshore General Hospital after a lengthy illness, Albert (Al) Gardner, aged 64 years of Steep Rock, MB. Al was born April 15, 1940 in Winnipeg, MB and raised in Douglas, MB. He left home at an early age and had numerous jobs including a short term in the army. Al then began carpentry and roofing which was his passion. In 1967 he married Rose Pischke and they lived in numerous places in Western Canada until settling down in Moosehorn in 1973. Al went into farming in 1993 to raise small animals, mostly goats, which were his favourite. His hobbies were curling, baseball and watching any sports on television. He curled in Moosehorn for 20 years, winning a room full of trophies he was very proud of. He also umpired baseball for many years. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Rose of 38 years; daughters, Teresa and Mark LaRiviere of Morden, MB, Tiffany and Campbell Laird of Winnipeg and Vanessa also of Winnipeg; grandsons, Corey and Daniel; and granddaughter Jenelle. Al also leaves to mourn his sisters, Jane and Bill Spring, of Calgary, AB, Shirley Baker of Calgary, brother Bob Baker of Winnipeg; special sisters-in-law, Jeanie (Jack), Engel Bretson of Brandon, MB and Linda Anderson also of Brandon and Beatrice Bird of Peguis, MB. His special in-laws, Walter and Laurie Pischke of Amaranth, MB, Steven Pischke of British Columbia, Sharon and Louie Cote of Moosehorn, MB, Eunice and Mel Bullerwell of Moosehorn, Lynn Pischke of Steep Rock, Bonnie and Lorne of Winnipeg, Dennis and Robin of Steep Rock, Cathy, Mark and Eileen Domko of Winnipeg, Jenny and Bart Thomas of Williams Lake, BC; also many nieces and nephews from across Canada. Dad really enjoyed his grandchildren and his children, taking them fishing, riding go-carts with the boys and snowmobiling. Jenelle was the apple of his eye. Just before his passing Al was able to and very proud to walk his daughter Tiffany down the isle for her wedding, just a very short month ago. He was predeceased by his mother Theresa in 1964; his brother Ben in 2002; brothers-in-law, Norm in 1979 and Raymond in 1988; mother-in-law Caroline in 1987; and brother-in-law David in 2004. At his request, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
