AGRYPINA (ALA) WOJCIK Peacefully on Sunday, February 6, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital, Ala, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, lost her battle with cancer at the age of 73 years. Ala leaves to mourn her sons, Ted (Teresa), Henry (Pat) and Mark (Dorota); grandchildren, Cecilia, Christopher, Anna-Alicia and Jeannette; brother Michael (Rozalia); nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Kazimierz; son Richard; sister Elizabeth; brother Jakub and parents Helen and Filip. Ala was born October 2, 1931 in Bialousza, Poland. At a very young age along with her family, Ala was sent to Siberia. During the War, she was moved throughout the Middle East eventually landing in England. Once in England, she met and married her husband Kazimierz in 1950. In 1953 they immigrated to Winnipeg to start a new life. Here with much love and kindness they raised a family. Ala always put her family first. She was a devoted Catholic, and was a longtime member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Woman's League as well at the Rosary Sodality . Ala loved to cook and bake, always tried new recipes for us to sample. She always loved to crochet and needlepoint. Gardening and making preserves was a big part of her life. Ala will be sadly missed by all who knew her, for her hard work and devotion to her family. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the 8th floor of the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate and loving care. Prayers will be said on Thursday, February 10 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 11 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with an Oblate Father as celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Wojcik (grandson), Joe Gubala, Hieronim Dyrkacz, Kamil Dyrkacz, Mieczyslaw Porczek, Marian Porczek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ala's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Wieczny Odpoczynek Racz Jej Dac Panie. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
