EVA HNATIUK With deep sadness on February 7, 2005 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital, the family announces the passing of Eva Hnatiuk at the age of 77 years. Remaining to cherish her memory is her husband Mike Hnatiuk, son Terry (Teresa) Hnatiuk, daughter Diane (Glenn) Ulicki, grandson Michael Hnatiuk, brother John (Mary) Chizick along with several nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Katie Chizick; sisters, Olga Boychuck and Anne Chizick; brother Henry Chizick; brother-in-law Peter Boychuck; and a nephew Richard Boychuck. Eva was born on July 19, 1927 in St. Andrews, MB and grew up on the family farm. She married Mike Hnatiuk and moved to Selkirk in 1949. She devoted her life to her family and was extremely giving to them. She will be deeply missed by us and forever in our thoughts. Prayers will be held on Thursday, February 10 (tonight) at 7:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 11 at 11:30 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Selkirk with burial to follow in Gonor, MB. The family would like to thank Dr. G. Fuchs and the caring staff at the Selkirk Hospital for all there care, along with home care staff who supported her throughout her illness. Eva's pallbearers will be David Boch, Paul, Mark, David, Andrew and Clifford Hnatiuk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eva's name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
