RONALD LIGHTFOOT On January 17, 2005, Ron passed away peacefully at Cowichan District Hospital, Duncan, BC. Ron was predeceased by his wife, Doreen in January 2004 and is lovingly remembered by his children, Kim (Don), Darrell (Myra), Sheldon (Donna) and Shaunne (Mark), and nine grandchildren. Ron will also be remembered by his sisters and family members in both Canada and Scotland. Ron was born September 7, 1930 in Selkirk, Scotland and moved to Canada in 1952, where he met and married Doreen (nee Duguay) in 1960. They resided in Winnipeg where he drove bus for Eagle and Grey Goose Bus Lines and charters for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and the Brandon Wheat Kings. One of Ron's most memorable charters was when he drove Don Messer and his Islanders on a cross-Canada tour with his family. In 1966, Ron and his family moved to the Pas, MB, where he worked for Indian Affairs and transferred to Campbell River in 1969. After retirement in 1998, Ron and Doreen moved to Duncan, BC. In honour of Ron's wishes, there will be no formal service. Cremation has taken place. Doreen and Ron's ashes were joined and spread together.
