Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH MAY NORTH (nee GOOD) Peacefully, on February 5, 2005, Edith passed away at Golden West Centennial Lodge. Edith was born December 19, 1904, the third of seven children of John and Nellie Good (nee Story) on a farm near Lenore, MB. She taught at schools in Saskatchewan and Manitoba before marrying George North in 1939. In the 1950s, Edith ran a kindergarten from their home in St. James. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading, bridge and needlework. In 1974 Edith was a driving force in organizing a Seniors' Club in her apartment block where she resided for 17 years. Edith was predeceased by her husband in 1965 and is survived by her daughter, Sandra Garvie (David) of Oakville, ON; her sister, Helen Jackson of Edmonton and, along with numerous nieces and nephews, her devoted niece Val Goodridge of Winnipeg. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Golden West who provided loving care during her final years. Interment took place at Chapel Lawn on February 10.
