MABEL PEARL MCKAY (nee EMBURY) (WALL) After a lengthy illness, Mabel passed away peacefully, February 10, 2005, at the Victoria General Hospital. Born on April 15, 1913 at Baldur, MB to Charlie and Clara Embury, she lived for 55 years at Clearwater, MB. She married Wilbert Wall and after his death moved to Winnipeg and married Harold McKay. Mabel will be lovingly remembered by her only daughter Elaine and husband Alf Rex; grandchildren, Jan (Roy) Parker, their daughters, Courtney and Katelyn; Connor Rex and his children, Jessica and Cody; stepdaughters, Judy (Jim) Potter, Margaret (Brian) McCrea; their children and grandchildren, Robyne, Blair, David, Paul, June and Brian, Emily, Trinity, Megan, Daryl and Lucas. She is also survived by her devoted sister Olive Woodward of Fort McMurray, AB as well as many nieces and nephews. Mabel was predeceased by Wilbert Wall, son Barry, daughter Marlene, Hal McKay and her only brother Graydon Embury. The family would like to express sincerest thanks and appreciation to Dr. Chris Ogaranko, Dr. Jeanne Young and all the 5th Floor staff at Victoria Hospital, the entire staff at Fort Garry Personal Care Centre and the staff at Meadowood Manor for your excellent care and compassion during the past one and one half years. She communicated her appreciation with her wave and love pats right to the end. A special thank you to Dr. Lloyd Bartlett for all his years of care. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 15 at 1:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Interment will take place in the spring at Clearwater Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Mabel's memory to The Children's Hospital Foundation, CE501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1, designated for leukemia or polio research.
