MAX EZEWSKI April 17, 1919 - October 3, 2004 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Max Ezewski on October 3, 2004, in Bracebridge Hospital, ON, aged 86 years, with his loving wife Margaret of 62 years at his side. He is survived by his daughters Barbara (Fred) Berday and Maxine Lemieux; seven grandchildren and sisters Elda Hibrand and Stella Cassidy. He was predeceased by his parents William and Helen Ezewski, sisters, Anne Stevens and Mary England. Max touched many lives from his early school years in Kelwood, MB, through his life time. His enthusiasm and promise for LIFE was as contagious as his smile. He could relate to every age and gender, making many wooden whistles, sling shots, playing ball, fishing and hiking (across the Riding Mountain as a teenager with Fawcett Wilson). Max enlisted into the R.C.A.F. soon after the Second World War started. He was posted to Dauphin, MB until graduation, getting his wings, family watching with pride and prayers. Then he transferred to Portage la Prairie to No. 7 Air Observers School where Max continued his training to become a Wireless Air Gunner. Captain Merl Cassidy was one of the many pilots he flew with. At an RCAF Officers Ball in Winnipeg, he met the love of his life, Margaret McFadyen. After marriage they lived in temporary quarters until Max was called to serve overseas. Upon his return his love for forests called him to Geraldton and Longlac, ON where he was involved with the hiring of personnel at the Kimberly-Clarke Division where all personnel were correctly started into their fields of work. He always talked and lived fair and square. Max was a member of the Longlac Lions Club and he performed with good intent in any endeavour in which he was involved. Max enjoyed sports, he was a good golfer, a high calibre curler, a fisherman, he was a great fisherman of both fish and people. He decided to take early retirement and the family moved to Port Carling to buy The Color Shop, a wall paper and paint with gifts store. Max incorporated his picture framing, which became a thriving job for both Max and Margaret taking time during winter slack for trips to Islands in the Sun. In 1996 they moved to Bracebridge, ON, Max retiring from his business, successfully selling it, to be near their daughter Barb and Fred. A Memorial service was held for Max in their beautiful home in Bracebridge with Rev. Rosalie Goos presiding with Dr. Doug McKee assisting. Others came to share spell binding memories touching all hearts. Max lived the Golden Rule! Max has departed this world - A better friend or pal he could not be. With him it was always Di Boja - God Give. But now we say, DohPabachinja - until we see each other again in heaven.
