DAWN KATHERINE KAUK
Date of Passing: Feb 11, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAWN KATHERINE KAUK Our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, godmother and friend, Dawn Katherine Kauk, was called home to be with her Lord on her mother's birthday, February 11, 2005. The Godly spirit that was Dawn will be cherished by her father Louis Kauk; sisters, Carol Stewart (Bob), Anita Barlow (David), Mary Lou Hadden (Stan), Mona Turcotte, Penny Kau (Klaus); brother Kevin Kauk (Alison); sisters-in-law, Linda Kauk (Donald), Gail Kauk (Kerry); her nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and friends. Dawn was predeceased by her beloved mother Mary; brothers, Donald and Kerry; brothers-in-law, Paul Turcotte, Laurent Lamoureux and Carman Hinds. Dawn was born on September 10, 1954. She may have been born the baby girl of the family, but her very life exemplified 1 Corinthians 13 vs. 4-7 and was an inspiration to us all. Dawn's love for the Lord showed itself as she was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, reminding them of God's love for them. She taught Sunday School for over 35 years. Her wisdom was shared as a youth leader and as an ongoing youth supporter. Dawn's behind-the-scene work carried our Lutheran Life Branch for years. Dawn's family and friends were very precious to her. She enjoyed getting together as a whole family or a gang of friends, as much as one on one visits. Dawn's quiet, gentle and dignified spirit drew many people to her. She will be deeply missed by her church family, friends and co-workers from W.T.C., especially four of the Fabulous Five: Dodie, Judi, Marlene and Terry. Our thanks to all who supported Dawn's journey: the oncologists and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, especially Anne Meekson: also her co-workers who stepped in at any given time to meet her needs. A devotional service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Pastor Kruesel officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be Kevin Kauk, brother, Brendan Hinds, Kyle Turcotte, Staecie Hadden, Jesse Jensen and Jordan Stepa, godchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Joanne and Zachary Nellis. Anyone wishing to make donations in Dawn's memory can do so to Canadian Lutheran World Relief, 1080 Kingsbury Ave., Winnipeg: CancerCare Manitoba, or a charity of your choice. John 14 vs. 1-4 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. Dawn, your beautiful smile, your kind and encouraging words, your humour and your love for us are the gifts we will treasure. Rest now IN GOD'S LOVING ARMS. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery Hwy. #1 E. at Navin 222-3241
