JACOB BORKOWSKY Peacefully, on Saturday, February 12, 2005, with family by his side, Jacob passed away at the Victoria General Hospital, at the age of 81 years. Jake will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary; his sons, Robert and Pauline Borkowsky of Calgary, Ken Borkowsky and Sally Gurney of Vancouver; daughter Terry Lynn and Luc Arnal of Oakville, MB and son Paul and Charlene Guenette of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Br. Adam Borkowsky LC and Rachel Anne Borkowsky of Calgary; his brother Ed (Lil); sisters, Norma (the Honourable Gordon J. Barkman) and Bernice (Dr. Art Birzneck). Jake was predeceased by his brother Raymond in infancy and his parents, Henry and Martha Borkowsky. Jake was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed golfing and curling as long as he was able. Jake was a man of great faith and love for the church. He will be remembered for his contribution in building three churches, Kirchoff Gardens seniors residence and Faith Gardens Personal Care Home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 15 at Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St. at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith Gardens Personal Care Home, c/o of Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St., Winnipeg, MB R2M 1V8.
