MAMORU SHIMANE (JACK) Peacefully, on Saturday, February 12, 2005, Mamoru Shimane, aged 83 years, passed away at the Misericordia Health Centre. Jack will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Mona (Ernie) Hiebert, Susan (Lloyd) Plueschow; grandson Benjamin; numerous nieces and nephews and his cat Mimi. He was predeceased by his wife Satomi; brothers, Shiro, Taro, and Kimio; sister Miyoko Terauchi. Jack was born in Vancouver, BC, and raised in Steveston, BC where he worked as a fisherman. He later settled in Manitoba, where he worked as a carpenter with Suzuki Brothers as well as other companies over the years. Gardening was a pastime that he really enjoyed. The family would like to thank the staff at the Misericordia Health Centre for their care of Jack over the past year. A Celebration of Jack's life will take place at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 15 at the Manitoba Buddhist Church, 825 Winnipeg Ave. with Sensei Fredrich Ulrich officiating.
