LORRAINE KUNZ (KROPPATCHAK/KROPP) It is with heartbreaking sorrow that we announce the passing of Lorraine, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt, on February 12, 2005 at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 71. Left to cherish her memory is her husband and best friend of 43 years, Helmut and her three daughters, Adrienne van Loon (Adrianus), Krista Kunz (Brian) and Helga Grose (Jeff). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Tara and Rhys van Loon and Jenna and Ashley Grose. She will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Earl (Roxanna) Jones, Pat (Bob) Solnes, Joyce (Albert) Janier, Colleen (Ron) Slobodian, Nancy Jones, Mark (Miriam) Jones, Darcy Jones and Florence Jones (Brian). She also leaves behind her closest friends since childhood, Helen Bachynski, Mary Ireland and Liz Rannick. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Jack and Edith; brother Clarence; sisters, Florence and Kathleen (Kay); niece Lucy; and nephew Brian. Lorraine was born in Winnipeg on May 3, 1933. In 1963 she married the love of her life, Helmut, and together they raised their three girls. Immediately following their retirement from Griffin Canada in 1993, Lorraine and Helmut embarked on a journey that took them to the southern United States arriving in Weslaco, TX, where they would winter for the next 11 years. Summers, since 1977, were always spent at their trailer in Camp Neustadt. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lorraine's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Her family sincerely thanks the nurses, doctors and healthcare workers at Riverview Health Centre (3E), St. Boniface General Hospital (5B 5E Medicine, Emergency, Oncology and Palliative Care) and Home Care. The care and compassion you provided to Lorraine will always be remembered. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
