CAPTAIN (TEX) HERBERT E. RITTER September 21, 1938 - February 13, 2005 After a long turbulent flight with cancer, Tex landed his final flight leg in peace at his home with family in attendance. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Ritter and son, Richard Eric Ritter; his parents, Elizabeth and Erhard Ritter of Winnipeg. Tex is predeceased by his son John Thomas Ritter. Tex has extended family members throughout Canada and Germany. Tex enjoyed a long flying career with Air Canada from 1966 - 1998. Prior to Air Canada, Tex was a Flying Officer in the RCAF from 1960 - 1966. Tex being a devoted family man found himself volunteering for Skate Canada clubs and events in support of his sons' participation in figure skating. He was a man filled with passion for humanity and animals. His 24 paws at home will miss him dearly. Tex was known for his sense of humour, which kept him stable throughout his final journey. His smile, his generosity, and compassion for others was contagious. He will continue to keep all of us under his wing. Adios. A celebration of life service for Tex will be held 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 18 at Knox Presbyterian Church, 89 Dunn St. (at Lakeshore Road), Oakville. Tex will be interred at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens with his son Tom. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choosing would be most acceptable to the Ritter family.
