OLIVE CHORNEY (nee STUTSKI) 1915 - 2005 On Tuesday, February 15, 2005 at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 89, Olive Chorney passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Olive was predeceased by her husband Nicholas in 1970; sister Eileen; and brothers, Ed, Tony, Bill and Lloyd. She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Bob and Marion (Caralee, Glenn, Nikol), Bev (Taryn, Shaylyn, Brenden); sisters, Gladys, Jean; brothers, Sam, Frank, Dave; and numerous nieces and nephews. Olive was born in Arness, MB in 1915 and married Nick in 1942. They lived for a short period in Mackenzie Lake, ON then moved back to Winnipeg. They bought land in Kirkfield Park, where they raised their family and farmed for many years. Olive also worked at Sears Polo Park for several years before retiring in June 1980. In her retirement years, Olive loved bowling, doing crafts, crocheting, looking after her flowers and travelling. Olive will always be remembered as a hard working, generous, kind person whose love for her family was far-reaching and selfless. A big thank you to all the staff at the Grace Hospital for the kindness and caring showed to Olive in making her final days as comfortable as possible. A celebration of Olive's life will be held on Thursday, February 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment will follow with Glenn Chorney, Brenden Montgomery, Greg Stutsky, Jim Signatovich, Johnny Stutsky and Alan Stutsky serving as pallbearers. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Olive's memory to the following charities: Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7; Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6; or the Grace General Hospital, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7. Your family will miss you dearly and you will live in our hearts and memories forever.
