WILLIAM P. SAWCHUK Peacefully after a short illness William Sawchuk passed away on February 16, 2005 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 78 years. William was predeceased by his parents, John in 1964 and Maria in 1980; his brother Peter in 2001; sister Katherine in 2001; brother-in-law Stan in 1990; and brother-in-law Arthur in 1973. William is survived by his sister Anne Kolodychuk (Vince) of Kelowna, BC, sister Mary Galka of Olds, AB, sister-in-law Doris Sawchuk of Calgary, AB, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. William was born in Dundurn, SK February 28, 1926. At the age of 20 he enlisted in the Army (Second World War) and served in Canada, United Kingdom, and Continental Europe, at the end of the war he came to Winnipeg. William worked several jobs lastly at Misericordia Hospital for 19 years until his retirement in 1992. The family would like to thank Dulce Santos and 5A staff at Holy Family Nursing Home and staff at Concordia Hospital for their excellent care. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road.
