FRANK WAZNEY It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Frank Wazney on February 13, 2005 at Kildonan Personal Care Centre at the age of 85. Frank will be lovingly remembered by Jean, his wife of 61 years; and their daughters, Helen (Paul) and Sandra (Julius) and his sons, Eddy (Diane) and Greg (Colleen). His grandchildren, Jason (Athena) and Darren (Danielle), Kerry (Brett) and Frank, Jeff (Lorena) and Cheryl (Leon), Sarah, Andrea, and Brian. Frank's great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Everett, Aiden, Max, Kelsey, and Zachary will also miss him dearly. Left also to remember him, is his brother Andrew; and sisters, Mary and Nellie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Both his parents, John and Agnes; and brothers, Mike and Stanley predeceased Frank. Dad was born September 24, 1919 in the Arborg area. He spent much of his early life in the farming community before moving to the town of Garson. While in Garson, Frank would eventually meet Jean, who later became his wife. Frank and Jean were married on September 11, 1943 at St. Mary's Church in Toronto. The two of them lived in Toronto for four years before returning to Winnipeg where they lived together, raising their four children. Dad's working career began at Ace Motors, and then moved on to servicing Champion road equipment for the next 35 years. While employed for Champion, Frank took numerous courses to increase his knowledge, which led him to becoming the service manager for the company until his retirement years. Dad and Mom, along with their four children lived in East Kildonan for some 25 years before moving out to the Rural Municipality of St. Clements. During the next 20 years that would become their home. While living in St. Clements, grandpa enjoyed the simpler things in life. He would spend countless hours outdoors working on the land and maintaining his farm equipment. Dad enjoyed working with his hands and even though he did not have a university degree in engineering, his engineering mind often challenged him to come up with creative solutions to many mechanical problems. Dad, your spirit will continue to live vibrantly amongst us all who came to know you. A memorial service with a gathering of family and friends will take place on February 19 at 11:30 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. with an informal reception to follow in the funeral home. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be sent to CancerCare Manitoba, 675, McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. A very special thank you from our family to the staff at Kildonan Personal Care Centre for their kind, gentle and compassionate care they provided for our father which is greatly appreciated.
