DONALD (DON) STEVENS It is with much sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our husband, father and grandfather on February 10, 2005 at the age of 67 years. Don will be greatly missed by his wife Marlene; his parents, Brownie and Bunty; his sons, Jon (Roanna), Mike (Delina); grand-children, Ben, Zeph, Sophie, Emma, Manita; his brother Gerry (Judy); his sister Lynne (Jack) Hildebrand; his brothers and sisters-in-law, aunt and uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Don was predeceased by his son Todd in 1989. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Don later settled in Charleswood where he resided until the time of his passing. He worked for 40 years as a Steamfitter with UA Local 254. Don's grandkids held a very special place in his heart. He also had a passion for golf and his annual winter golfing trips to Texas were a real bonus . He was a tireless Minnesota Vikings fan for the last 40 years. We will miss his big heart, sense of humour, and generosity. As a family, we wish to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their compassion and superb care. One of Don's last wishes was to urge those with known asbestos exposure to seek immediate medical counsel (see www.mesorfa.org). A celebration of Don's life will be held on Sunday, February 20th at 3 p.m. at the Southwood Golf and Country Club, 101 Markham Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's memory to St. Boniface Hospital and Research Foundation Palliative Care Fund, Room D1003, 409 Tache Avenue, R2H 2A6. neil bardal inc. 949-2200
