PAUL HOFFMANN October 19, 1923 - February 11, 2005 With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad and grandfather. Paul is survived by his beloved wife Klara-Elisabeth; daughter Brigitte (Bob) Westmacott, granddaughter Robin Westmacott of Ottawa; daughter Holly; son Nick (Annette), their children, Brigitte (Richard), Claudette (Toby), Hank, Ryan (Lynn) and Dale. Paul was born in Breslau, Germany. After serving in the Navy, he received his master's degree in the Art of Baking in Zelle, Germany, where he is survived by his loving sisters, Frieda (Heinz) Burgdorf, Jutta (Karl-Heinz) Campe, sister-in-law Erika and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Paul and Bertha, his brothers Irwin of Braunschweig, Frank and Kurt during the war in France. Arriving in Winnipeg in 1954 with numerous challenges, he bought Rudolph's Bakery, which was his life for many successful years, until mom fell ill and dad committed himself as caregiver for the next 25 years. Always the rock and generous, he was the family's compass that kept us on course. We will miss so many wonderful things about you, Dad - your red juicy tomatoes, your famous birthday cakes and your Christmas stollen and especially your time and patience. Dad you were always there for us and you will always be in our hearts and prayers. We would like to thank the Palliative Health Unit Gwen J. and Ann K., Dr. Lelek and staff at CancerCare, Helen, Marlene and Arlene at Riverview Health Centre in 3 East, the wonderful support for our mother at River East Personal Care Home. Cremation has taken place and in keeping with Paul's wishes, a private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, friends who do so desire may make donations to CancerCare Manitoba at 675 McDermot. Goodbye my friends, my life has passed. I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take. Love each other, for my sake. For those you love don't go away, They walk beside you every day. Forever in our hearts.
