Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY (MAIMIE) GRANGER September 11, 1910 - February 16, 2005 Surrounded by the love of her family and friends, our Mom, Gramma and Great-Gramma passed away peacefully at Stonewall Hospital on Wednesday, February 16, 2005. Mom was born on September 11, 1910 in Leith, Scotland, then moved to Canada in 1925 with her parents, Donald and Sarah Sutherland to join her brother Donald in Grosse Isle, MB. Mom was always proud of her Scottish heritage and her love of the sea. After completing her schooling there she taught on permit in Grandview, MB then returned to Normal School followed by teaching positions at Tecumseh School and Brandon Hills School. Here she met and married Charles Granger in 1938. Dad and Mom lived in Rounthwaite, MB until they moved to Warren, MB in 1952. They later retired to Brandon and after Dad's passing Mom returned to Stonewall in 1990 where she enjoyed 15 years living in Stonewood Place. Mom was a long time member of Rounthwaite, Warren and Stonewall United Churches. She was a life-time member of the Warren U.C.W. and the Warren W.I. Mom's love of family was her greatest joy. She was blessed with many wonderful friends, young and old who meant the world to her. Mom was seldom judgmental and always found good in everyone. Mom was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 1979; son Stuart 2004. Mom will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her daughter Barbara (Tom Riddell) and grandchildren, Craig (Colleen), Kyla (Scott Corbett); Darren Granger (Cathy), Debbie (Gerry Singfat) and their Mother Levina Granger. Great-grandchildren, Sadie and Chase Granger; daughter-in-law Diane Granger, and her family, Robert, Teresa, Derek, Mark and Cathy and Rob; and Marg, Bob and Chad Robinson. We want to express our sincere thanks to Mom's wonderful homecare workers at Stonewood Place. Sincere thanks also to Dr. Pinniger and the professional, caring staff at Stonewall and District Health Centre. A memorial service to celebrate Mom's life will be held on Monday, February 21 at 11:00 a.m. at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 433 Main Street, Stonewall, MB. As an expression of sympathy, if friends so wish, donations may be made to Stonewall District Health Centre, 589 3rd Avenue S. Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0 or Stonewood Place, 513 1st Avenue N. Stonewall, MB R0C 2Z0. Just as the bloom is the beauty of the rose, a mother is the glory of her family. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
