ELIZABETH (BETTY) RICE Peacefully on February 15, 2005 Betty was called to her eternal home. She leaves to cherish her memory, Special Family Joyce, Linda, Sheri, James and Shea. Also left are Barb (Don) of Newfoundland; as well as many dear friends far too numerous to mention. Betty was born February 13, 1918 and lived her life to the fullest. She worked for many years at the Misericordia Hospital and later at the Rehab Centre until her retirement. Betty was an avid sports fan and could always be heard cheering when a game was on. She referred to the teams as My Bombers and My Jets . With her vibrant personality, she made many friends throughout her life. Those who were fortunate enough to have met Betty, knew that they would never ever forget her - she never missed a beat and always had a funny story or joke to tell. Betty will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 21 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 252 Stafford St. at Corydon Ave. Father Peter Monty S.J. will celebrate the mass. Viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. Interment will take place in Assumption Cemetery following the mass. Any flowers that Betty ever received were immediately given to friends. In keeping with her wishes, if friends so desire, donations in her memory may be made to St. Ignatius Catholic Church. LECLAIRE BROTHERS in care of arrangements. 775-2220.
