TONY GAUDES It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Tony Gaudes, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, at the age of 72 on February 14, 2005. Tony is lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife Lil; sons, Jim, Derek and Grant (Janine); sisters-in-law, Beth Hutton and Tee Somers; and grandchildren, Brendan (6), Carter (2) and Parker (7 months). Tony grew up in Norwood and later relocated to Windsor Park after marrying Lil, his wife of 46 years. Tony worked at CBC for 35 years where he forged many lasting friendships throughout his career. Upon retirement Tony built his dream cottage at Twin Beach on Lake Manitoba. The cottage was his home away from home where he enjoyed many social gatherings with family and friends. Tony and Lil enjoyed vacationing in Florida for the winter months for 10 years. He led an active life and for the last three years he could be found exercising at the Reh-fit Centre. During the last six years, Tony took great pride and pleasure in spending time with each of his grandsons. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 23 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing one half hour prior to the service, in the St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd. Interment will take place at Green Acres Cemetery with a reception to follow in the St. Bernadette Parish Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart Stroke Foundation. We were very sorry to hear about Tony's passing. My husband Len workes with Tony for years at CBC and thought a lot of him as a co-worker and a person. He was well liked there. Len is out of town right now so he won't be at the funeral. Please know that our thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Linda Dubyts (Co-Worker) on: Feb 20, 2005

Dear Lill I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Tony. I will always remember him for his instant smile and hand shake or pat on the back when whenever we ran into each other. Other than Pat and Lorraine, I was his only girl cousin, 15 years younger and I thought he was the greatest. I remember your wedding and the luncheon at nana's house and how proud he was of you and his 3 sons. Time goes so quickly, but memories are constant and he will always be there. Take care.
