MATTHEW ZAYAC December 31, 1935 - February 17, 2005 Suddenly after a lengthy illness, Matthew passed away at the Health Sciences Centre on February 17, 2005. Matthew is survived by his sons, Grant (Linda) and Kevin; daughter Linda; grandsons and granddaughters; brother Geno (Gerri); sisters, Verna and Lena; numerous nieces and nephews. Also left to mourn is longtime companion Maria. He was predeceased by his parents Ivan and Doris Zayac; brothers Nickolas, Maurice and George at infancy; sisters, Sylvia and Olga; wife Mary Zayac. Matthew was born and raised in the village of Arbakka, MB. He moved to Winnipeg in 1950 and had various jobs mainly with Building Products. He entered the drapery business with Plaza Drapery and had numerous satisfied customers. In the early 70's Matthew established his own business known as Matthew's Drapery retiring in the early 1990's. Matthew enjoyed many outdoor activities, which included hunting, fishing, berry and mushroom picking. Matthew will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In accordance with Matthew's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
