JOYCE EMILEEN BELL February 26, 1911 - February 4, 2005 The family of Joyce Emileen Bell is sad to announce the death of a much beloved aunt and friend on February 4, 2005, a short three weeks before her 94th birthday on February 26. Joyce was predeceased by her parents Martin and Melvina Bell, sister Myrtle Bell, sister and brother-in-law, Stephana and Jacob Lowenberger. Her memory will always be cherished by her nieces, Sybil Dickson, Melva (Don) Knight, and her faithful nephew. Bob (Jo-Anne) Lowenberger and their families. She was a loving aunt to her great nieces and nephews, always remembering birthdays and Christmas. She loved them all, including their pets. Joyce was born on February 26, 1911 at Shellmouth, Manitoba, the youngest of the three Bell sisters. There she received her schooling before moving to Winnipeg in 1927. She attended Business College before being employed for a time in the Insurance Industry. For many years she worked for the Winnipeg Free Press and the CBC from where she retired in 1970. She was a member of Westminster United Church where she loved caring for the little children during the church service. As a young woman she wrote poetry to make special occasions for friends and family. Joyce loved music and attended many concerts. Reading was her passion, which helped her to always be on top of the news. Her books were precious to her and were her main concern when her life and her home had to change. In honor of Joyce's life a memorial service will be held in Westminster United Church Chapel, Maryland Street and Westminster Avenue on Wednesday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Robert Campbell will officiate. Flowers gratefully declined. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the charity of your choice. Special thanks to the caring staff of Nursing Station 2 at Tuxedo Villa. Interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO.
