ANNIE DAROWANY On February 18, 2005 at the Charleswood Care Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba Annie Darowany passed away at age 94. Annie Darowany was born at the family homestead June 2, 1910 in Malonton, MB. She spent her early years helping her father Wasyl to raise her younger sister and brothers after her mother Anastasia died when Annie was 14. She attended Zbruch School and Assumtion of Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Komarno. She moved to Detroit, Michigan following the Second World War. From there she had the opportunity to live and work in Bermuda, Las Vegas and Vancouver. Upon retirement, she moved to East Kildonan in Winnipeg, where she was involved with Oaklanders Social Club - a seniors organization in her building. Annie enjoyed the simple things in life; especially home in Malonton. Her attitude to life, her family and friends were always of kindness, with faith in God and prayers. Annie always wanted to help those in need-never-never letting her family down. She loved yellow roses and the colour moss green. She had an infectious laugh and was always smiling. Surviving to mourn her loss are her sister-in-law Anne Darowany of Winnipeg in addition to numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
