ELEANOR (ELLIE) GUDRUN JOHNSON Peacefully on Friday, February 18, 2005 our Mother and Amma passed away at Arborg Hospital. Mom was born in Hnausa, MB on February 23, 1929 to Sigurlauger (Laugi) and Valgerdur (Valla) Johnson. She married Fredrick Johnson of Riverton, MB, where she lived and raised her family until her passing. Mom especially enjoyed reading, working in her flower garden, doing crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. She was proud of her Icelandic heritage and spoke Icelandic whenever she could. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Solli, Shannon, Alan (Eileen), Laurel (Harvey) and Lisa; her grandchildren, Serena, James, Paul, Marlon and Steven, Alanna and Carter; sisters, Kristine (Ken) and Thorey; brother Wallace; sister-in-law Joan; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Laugi and Valla; brothers, Edward and Marvin; sisters, Evelyn, Rosa and Bernice. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of the Arborg Hospital for the wonderful care they provided during her stay. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
