ALICE MARIE DESJARLAIS (nee CHARTRAND) Rest peacefully with the Angels Mom God has now given you wings. It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom and Memere, on Friday, February 18, 2005 after her long courageous battle, Mom passed away peacefully and with family at her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband Arthur in 1989; her son Denis in 1991; and twin great-granddaughters, Helene and Jeralyne in 2003. Mom will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Agatha Chartrand, Margaret (Elie) and Rhonda; her sons, Benny, Andrew, Bobby (Denise) and Antoine; grandchildren, Paula, Crystal, Clayton, Benjamine, Edward, Amy and Alyssa; great-grandchildren, Paige, Josh and Mariah. Mom is also survived by her sisters, Amanda Boudreau, Evelyn Tohms, Jean Korzonowski; sisters-in-law, Maude McKay and Florence (Harvey) Coutu; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was a very strong woman, both in life and in her faith in God. She instilled the importance of God and prayer in her family, often reciting the Rosary together. Mom found joy in many things; she loved flowers, playing cards, visits from everyone, going for car rides and especially the sounds of life and laughter in her home. Though her passing was sudden, we find peace in knowing that Mom feels no more pain and is rejoicing with Dad in Heaven. Our family wishes to extend its thanks to Dr. Burnett and staff at E.M. Crowe Hospital in Eriksdale, MB for their considerate care and kindness throughout a most difficult journey. Pallbearers will be Emile Coutu, Leonard Coutu, Claude Boudreau, Robert Gaudry, Alvin Gaudry and Steve Tanner. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, St. Laurent, MB. Funeral Mass will also be celebrated on Wednesday, February 23 also at the church. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall, 467-2525.
