DORIS BACHYNSKY (nee GILLESPIE) Surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Doris Bachynsky aged 74 years of Petersfield, MB. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, John; children, Carol Lee (Jack) of Dryden, ON, David George (Monica) of Lac du Bonnet, MB, Susan George (Larry) of Headingley, MB, Linda O'Dell (Clint), Douglas George and Edward George all of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Lori Holmes (Rob), Jamie Lee (Kelly), David George (Joyce), Joey Bannatyne, Jeff Summerfield and Keri James (Michael); nine great-grandchildren; sister Gwen Mattson (Carl) and brother Ron Gillespie all of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Hugh and Rebecca Gillespie and brother Edward. Doris was born in Winnipeg on January 23, 1931 and resided in Petersfield for the past 25 years. She loved gardening, knitting, needlework and spending time with family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 22 at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. Interment to follow in the St. Georges Anglican Churchyard, Wakefield, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Rm. 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
